Captain Gianluigi Buffon and defender Dani Alves have said their dream is to deliver Saturday’s Champions League title to Juventus, Soccerway reports.

Buffon, 39, has failed to land Europe’s biggest club prize in his storied career, while Alves has the experience of three Champions League triumphs – the last coming for Barcelona against Juve in 2015.

Alves said he wants to help Buffon capture the only major title that has eluded him.

He said, “A player as important as Gigi to not have this trophy.

“We need to use this opportunity to make sure that the dream becomes a reality. To win a trophy with Buffon before he retires – that would be special for me.”
