LAGOS—THE Police, yesterday, charged three commercial cyclists, Koffi David, Hakimi Adamu and Saidu Ibrahim, who allegedly abducted a housewife and threatened to kill the husband, before an Igbosere magistrate’s court, Lagos.

The defendants, who are between ages 20 and 22, and reside at 9, Bank Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, are standing trial on a three-count charge of conspiracy, abduction and threat to life.

The trio, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against them by the Police.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Ingobo, had informed the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 4, at about 11:30p.m. at 9, Flood Gate Close, Alasia Ajah, Lagos.

He alleged that the defendants conspired and abducted one Hadiza Goma with the intention of having sexual intercourse with her.

His words: “The trio abducted Goma from the custody of her husband, one Seriki Goma, with the intent of having sexual intercourse with her. They abducted Goma without her consent.”

The prosecutor also said that on July 19, one of the defendants, David, threatened to kill Mr. Goma through phone calls.

According to him the offences are punishable under Sections 56, 269 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Martins Owunmi, granted them N100,000 bail each with two sureties each in like sum.

He said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
