Former President Donald Trump is set to face arraignment in New York City for his role in the 2016 hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. Michael Cohen, who served as Trump’s attorney for over a decade and facilitated the payments, has suggested that Trump is “petrified” and “beyond petrified” about the situation.
In an interview with MSNBC’s “The Beat,” Cohen claimed that Trump is incapable of understanding or contending with the situation he finds himself in. “He believes he could control every situation. This is not a situation that he has any control over, and that’s making him sick to his stomach,” Cohen said. “Diaper Donald will be filling up that diaper,” he added.
Cohen’s comments come after he served prison time for campaign finance violations related to the payments to Daniels. He has since acted as a key witness for the prosecution against Trump, providing evidence and testimony against the former president.
Trump arrived in New York on Monday from Florida on his private jet, with his team indicating that he will turn himself into the Manhattan district attorney’s office on Tuesday. He is expected to plead not guilty to the charges.
