Olubadan’s body arrives Popoyemoja’s palace as mourners throng palace [PHOTOS]

The remains of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji have arrived at the monarch’s palace.

The palace is located at the family compound of the monarch at the Popoyemoja area of Ibadan.

the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday.

The monarch who ruled over 11 local government areas that make up of Ibadan died less than one month after the death of Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi.

Oba Adetunji died at the age of 93.

Sources confirmed that the monarch died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

The body was moved in an ambulance belonging to the hospital.

The body was accompanied to the palace by scores of mourners who throng the palace.

The mourners were seen wailing and praying for the soul of the departed monarch.

Sources said the monarch would soon be buried in line with Islamic rites.
