Zamfara State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has lamented the rising insecurity in the State.

The State commandant of the Corps, Mr. A A Sparks, who spoke through the command’s spokesman, DSC Ikor Oche said that there have been some security strategies put in place to address the teething problems in the State.

Speaking with DAILY POST at the Corps Secretariat in Gusau, the State capital, Mr Sparks noted that the dastardly acts have become so worrisome to the State Governor who was making all efforts to address the banditry activities in the State.

He said that the command had deployed its security operatives to various locations of the State to protect lives and properties of the residents, saying that it has become a do or die affairs for the security agencies in the State.

“We have deployed our security operatives to various locations of the State in order to secure lives and properties of the residents considering the rising insecurity situation in the entire State,” he added.

Commenting on Zurmi attack in the early hours of Friday, 17th June, 2022, the Corps commandant noted that intelligence report indicated that informants were the brains behind the deadly attack.

“The bandits would not have succeeded without the assistance of the informants and the command has taken stringent security measures to ensure that the informants would no longer have their way in the dubious business,” he said.

“We are aware that the press has a vital role to play in the issue of security and our constitutional responsibility cannot be completed without the contribution of the press,” he added m

The commandant appealed to the locals to always give vital information to the security agencies so that they can tackle the problem of banditry activities in the State, promising that all information will be treated in confidence.
