The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has decried the current state of Nigeria’s educational system.
Atiku bared his mind in a tweet while commenting on the 2022 International Literacy Day.
The Tweet said, “Regrettably, our education system is as broken as every other sector of our national life.

“There is a nexus between development and literacy—however, our current literacy level cannot drive the envisaged level of development.
“To this end, I plan a reform and massive investment in education”, he twitted.
The presidential hopeful pledged that under his watch and in collaboration with state governments, more attention will be placed on early education that guarantees the ability to read and write.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, gave the theme of the 2022 International Literacy Day as “Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces”.
UNESCO said the theme is aimed at providing opportunities to rethink the fundamental importance of literacy learning spaces to build resilience and ensure quality, equitable, and inclusive education for all.
