New Look, Same Chelsea — Or Not? A Closer, More Honest Take

Side-By-Side Pics Expose HGTV Star Chelsea DeBoer's Mar-A-Lago Face In The Making
Share

I’ve watched Chelsea DeBoer on and off since the early Teen Mom days, and it’s hard not to notice how much she’s changed. Maybe you feel the same — you scroll through side-by-side photos and something about the face just reads different. It’s subtle at first, then not. The shift makes you squint, wonder, and maybe judge a little, which is human. So let’s talk about what’s different, what she’s said about it, and what this kind of change means when you grow up in public.

What the photos show (and what they don’t)

Look at older snaps from around 2009, soon after Chelsea had her first child. Her lips were thinner, brows less sculpted, cheeks less full. Fast forward to a red carpet moment alongside her husband, Cole DeBoer, and you notice a fuller face: plumper lips, more lifted cheeks, and brows that read more defined. People online have picked up on it — fans and followers point to lip fillers, Botox, and dermal work. Some miss the old Chelsea; others say she looks great, more polished, like an HGTV star who always has her hair and makeup figured out.

None of this is exactly shocking. Plenty of public figures tweak their looks. What’s more interesting is how the change is discussed. It becomes shorthand: “Mar-a-Lago face,” a phrase floated in tabloids and social feeds to describe a certain kind of high-profile, recognizable makeover. The label feels loaded — political overtones, fashion signals, status cues. But at the end of the day, it’s a way people make sense of a consistent set of features they see on many well-known women: full cheeks, pronounced lips, smooth skin. I’m not saying that’s fair. I’m just noting how we create categories to digest celebrity images.

Chelsea herself hasn’t been coy about getting help. She’s openly said she’s used Botox since 2016, and she’s talked about changing her body too. That honesty matters. When someone admits to procedures or treatments, it changes the conversation a bit — it moves from speculation to something more concrete. Still, openness doesn’t stop people from projecting their own preferences: nostalgia for the old look, admiration for the new, or simple curiosity about what’s “authentic.”

Weight and wellness: more than skin-deep

Chelsea’s transformation isn’t only about facial tweaks. She’s been public about losing weight after her second pregnancy — about 50 pounds — and using a structured program (Profile by Sanford, at the time) to do it. She framed the change as part physical, part habits. In interviews she said pregnancy had left her feeling off, and that the program helped her relearn food choices and routines. She talked about the change not as a quick fix, but as an adoption of new habits: choosing healthier options, planning meals, and sticking to a pattern that felt sustainable.

This kind of narrative — weight loss plus lifestyle shift — is familiar. It’s also complicated. When a celebrity promotes a program, there’s always a mix of genuine experience and marketing. Chelsea did that: she used the plan, shared results, and her posts sometimes doubled as endorsements. That doesn’t nullify the hard part — changing habits is difficult — but it does mean the story sits at the intersection of personal struggle, public image, and commerce.

Pregnancy and postpartum are another layer. She’s said the habits she developed helped her have an easier time after later pregnancies. That rings true; when you’ve built different routines around food and movement, it affects recovery, energy levels, and mood. Still, it’s worth noting everyone’s body responds differently. Chelsea’s experience isn’t a template — it’s a single path that worked for her, under her circumstances, at that time.

Public reaction: empathy, critique, and the weird middle

Social media reactions mix admiration and critique. Some fans long for the “original” Chelsea: fewer enhancements, a softer, younger look. Others praise her confidence and polished presentation. Some comments are blunt and not always kind; others strike a sympathetic tone, missing the complexity behind a face and a body that are both evolving. I admit — I sometimes catch myself siding with whatever I preferred yesterday. Old looks can feel more “real,” even if that’s a fuzzy standard.

There’s also a larger cultural angle. We watch women in the spotlight and project expectations: stay maternal but attractive, be relatable but aspirational, seem naturally beautiful while having access to any number of treatments. That contradiction is exhausting. Chelsea has navigated that tension publicly: being a mom, a TV personality, and now a star on home design TV. The roles expect different things, and the way she presents herself speaks to all of them at once.

A fair take — not perfect, just honest

I don’t think there’s a single right response to Chelsea’s changes. Some people will judge, others will celebrate, and many will do a mix of both. What matters to me is the person behind the photos: a woman who grew up on reality TV, who has been open about Botox and weight loss, and who is trying to find a version of herself that works day to day. That’s relatable even if the look isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Ultimately, the photos tell a story about appearance, choice, and life under a microscope. They remind us how quick we are to label and how slow we are to understand context. Chelsea’s changes are a mix of aesthetics, health choices, and public performance. Maybe she made these choices for confidence, career, or comfort. Maybe she’ll change again. People do. I think that’s the only constant worth noting.
