Navarone Garibaldi’s Redemption Journey: From Drug Addiction to Reconnecting with Family

In a striking revelation, Navarone Garibaldi, son of Lisa Marie Presley, has opened up about his harrowing battle with drug addiction and his inspiring journey toward recovery. In an exclusive interview with People magazine, the 21-year-old musician shared the depths of his struggle and the transformative events that led him to confront his demons head-on.

As a teenager, Garibaldi found himself entangled in the world of drugs, initially believing he was dabbling in heroin. However, the dangerous substance turned out to be the potent opioid, fentanyl, catapulting his addiction into a whole new realm. With chilling honesty, he confessed, “I became so addicted that I’d need it every 45 minutes.” The rawness of his admission reveals the severity of his dependence and the desperation he felt.

At the age of 18, Garibaldi decided to break free from the grip of addiction by channeling his energy into his passion for music. Alongside fellow band members, he formed the rock group Them Guns, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life. However, his journey toward self-redemption took an unexpected turn during a visit to his extended family in Brazil.

Recalling the significance of that trip, Garibaldi disclosed the weight of shame he carried. His relatives in Brazil remained oblivious to his drug problem, and he felt a sense of disgrace in hiding his struggles from them. Determined to reclaim his self-worth, he vowed not to return until he had successfully conquered his addiction. This act of self-imposed isolation showcased his unwavering commitment to self-improvement.

It wasn’t until the year 2020, amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic, that Garibaldi found his motivation to change. His desire to visit his now-wife, Elsa, in Switzerland during the lockdown became his catalyst for transformation. Aware that international travel would be impossible with drugs in his possession, he made the courageous decision to give up fentanyl cold turkey. It was an arduous and painful process, but he emerged victorious.
