Former Manchester United star, Paul Parker, has advised manager Erik Ten Hag against giving Bruno Fernandes the captain’s armband in Harry Maguire’s absence from the starting lineup.
Parker stated that Fernandes never stops moaning and that the 28-year-old gets on people’s nerves. The former footballer urged Ten Hag to reconsider his decision and choose another player to lead the team.
During Manchester United’s Premier League 1-0 win over Aston Villa last month, Jadon Sancho told Fernandes to “stop moaning” after a passage of play. The incident was captured in a viral video that went viral among fans on social media.

Speaking to MyBettingSites, Parker said, “I think that everyone knows that [Bruno] Fernandes moans a lot. He never stops moaning, and he must get on people’s nerves. Sancho might be feeling it more than other players because Fernandes is getting at him all the time. But [Jadon] Sancho needs to treat him like a club captain, however, he should not be the captain, but that is how it is now.”
Fans have since reacted to Parker’s comments, with some agreeing with him while others believe that Fernandes is the best choice for the captain’s armband.
Manchester United has yet to respond to Parker’s comments, and it remains to be seen who will lead the team in Maguire’s absence.
