Arsenal legend Paul Merson has told Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag to drop Jadon Sancho for their Premier League clash against Tottenham this week.

Sancho has endured a difficult start to the current season, scoring three goals in 12 appearances and failing to make a single assist.

He was in ten Hag’s starting XI for their fixture against Newcastle United on Sunday but the former Borussia Dortmund winger failed to make a decisive impact.

And Arsenal legend Merson feels the England international should be left out of the Red Devils’ first team for their game against Tottenham.

“This is a hard game to call,” Merson told Sportskeeda.
“Manchester United had a couple of good chances last week, and I don’t think Newcastle picked the right pass at times.

“I think Cristiano Ronaldo will play this game. I only say that because I know that Tottenham will play everybody behind the ball.

“Manchester United will need to put balls into the box, and Ronaldo is the best header of the ball in the world. I’d leave Jadon Sancho out this week and play Ronaldo, Rashford, and Antony up front.”
