Today we are sharing a fun DIY that is sure to add some modern decor elements to your wedding – and is the perfect keepsake for your home after your big day! We teamed up with our favorite silk flower company Afloral to bring you a twist on the classic floral letter by adding in some marble! This would be such a great addition to your sweetheart table or dessert table! Here’s how we did it…
What You’ll Need:
• Silk flowers from AFloral. We went with a desert / sand tone of flowers like dahlia, roses and peony buds. Find more products we used on this curated page on Afloral.com
• Cardboard letters. We used J&K as ours!
• Marble paper
• Hot glue gun
Step 1: We wanted to have an asymmetrical shape for the marble paper on our letters so we took a straight edge (ruler, paper) and traced a line along the letters.
Step 2: Next, we traced the paper under the letters to grab the shape, and trimmed the bottom edge to match the line we drew in step 1. Hot glue gun the paper down onto your pieces. You can wrap just the front, or all of the other sides so it is completely covered in marble paper on the top part of your letters.
Step 3: Lastly, we started by trimming ther flowers down to the head and laid them on our letters to get an idea of how it would look. We glued all of the bigger flowers down first, then filled in with greenery or filler flowers + berries.
Love all these sand/red tones together – the berries are a fun touch!
Such a great twist on the floral letter trend, right?!
If you make your own Floral Marble Letters with AFloral using these steps or supplies, we’d love to see how it turns out, so please share on Instagram along with the hashtag #GreenWeddingShoesDIY. We’ll regram our faves!
