In a recent revelation, Nollywood actor Samuel Ajibola, fondly known as “Spiff,” has openly acknowledged the striking resemblance between his son and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. This admission comes after the actor’s family faced cyberbullying following their visit to Obasanjo in 2022, which led to widespread speculation about the paternity of Ajibola’s son.

During an exclusive interview on Channels TV, Ajibola addressed the cyberbullying and the uncanny resemblance between his son and the ex-Nigerian leader. He shed light on the misconceptions that arose from the photos he shared on social media, stating, “The picture that caused the stir was the picture with me and my wife with the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.”

Ajibola, who serves as the Youth Ambassador to the Youth Development Centre of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, emphasized his mentorship and close relationship with the former President. He explained that his regular visits to Obasanjo’s residence were misconstrued, leading to baseless assumptions about the paternity of his son.

The actor clarified, “After I had my son, I took him there to see him. And people started assuming things. They said, ‘Okay, my wife was a secretary to the former President.’ It moved from that to, ‘Oh! He [Obasanjo] is the true father’ of my son.”

Addressing the uncanny resemblance, Ajibola candidly admitted, “I won’t deny it, I’m saying this live on air. In that picture, my son does look like him there. But there are circumstances around it. And it’s still a picture. It’s a still picture. It’s a second. It’s a moment of which my son was just waking up from sleep when we arrived. So he was just booting and he had those eye bags. Those eyebags made him look like the former President.”
