“Bushwhacker Butch, Beloved Wrestling Pro, Dies at Age Unknown: Fans Mourn Loss”

Legendary wrestler Bushwhacker Butch Miller passed away on April 4, 2023, leaving the wrestling community and his fans devastated. Butch, who had retired from the wrestling industry in the early 2000s, reunited with his partner Bushwhacker Luke in 2021 for a few fan events before his death.

Luke had recently posted an eerie message on Instagram, urging fans to secure joint autographs of them as both their ages and Butch’s residence in New Zealand made it uncertain for future events. Sadly, this proved to be true as Butch’s death came as a shock to many.

In response to Butch’s death, wrestlers and fans alike took to Twitter to express their condolences and share their eulogies. Frankie Kazarian, a wrestler, tweeted, “RIP Bushwhacker Butch. Godspeed sir. Thank you for everything, including the one match we had together. This is so sad.”

The Iron Sheik, another wrestling pro, wrote, “BUSHWHACKER BUTCH I LOVE YOU FOREVER. RIP MY FRIEND YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE.” Even WWE Official Adam Pearce shared his condolences, tweeting, “Godspeed, Bushwhacker Butch Miller. Rest well, sir.”

Butch Miller was born on October 21, 1944, in Auckland, New Zealand. He began his wrestling career in the late 1960s and wrestled in several promotions across the world. However, he gained widespread recognition for his time with the WWE (then known as the WWF) in the 1980s.

Butch and his partner Luke, collectively known as The Bushwhackers, were known for their signature walk to the ring, where they would swing their arms and march like soldiers. The duo quickly became fan favorites and entertained crowds with their eccentric behavior and entertaining matches.

They also had a successful run in tag team wrestling, winning multiple titles in various promotions. Butch continued to wrestle even after the duo split up in the mid-1990s, performing for promotions such as ECW and WCW.

After retiring from wrestling, Butch moved back to New Zealand, where he continued to make appearances at fan events alongside Luke. Fans always appreciated Butch’s warmth and kindness towards them, making him one of the most beloved wrestlers of his time.
