Amanda Bynes Placed On Rehab

0

Former child star Amanda Bynes was once again placed on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold in the early hours of Sunday, March 19, 2023. A source who spoke to TMZ reported that Bynes had waved down a car, telling the driver that she was coming down from a psychotic episode. She later called 911, leading to her being placed on a 72-hour hold.

This is not the first time that Bynes has been placed on such a hold, with this most recent incident now marking the third time she has been hospitalized in this way. She had previously announced on Page Six in 2018 that she had been sober for four years, only to later relapse.

Over the past few years, Bynes had seemed to be on an upward trajectory, with her studying for a degree at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. However, in a 2018 interview with Paper magazine, Bynes denied that she had any mental health issues, attributing her past behavior as being drug-induced.

The enforced hospital stay could potentially be extended beyond the initial 72 hours if it is deemed that Bynes poses a risk to herself or others. This recent incident has once again raised concerns about her well-being and has reignited conversations about mental health awareness within the entertainment industry.

Bynes first rose to prominence in the late 1990s as a child star, appearing in various television shows and films such as “All That,” “What a Girl Wants,” and “Hairspray.” However, in the following years, she began to experience tumultuous personal and legal issues, which saw her taking a break from acting and stepping out of the public eye.

Over the past few years, Bynes had attempted to rekindle her acting career, with her most recent project being a guest appearance on the popular television show “Blackish.” However, her recent hospitalization has now put her career goals on hold, with her understandably focusing on her health and well-being.

The entertainment industry has seen a number of high-profile cases of mental health and substance abuse issues over the years, with many insiders calling for more awareness and support for those struggling with such problems. The recent death of actor Robin Williams, who had long suffered from depression and substance abuse, sparked a renewed conversation about mental health and the challenges those in the industry may face.

For Bynes, this recent hospitalization is yet another reminder that mental health struggles can affect anyone, regardless of their background or status in life. It has also highlighted the importance of seeking help and support when dealing with such issues, and the need for understanding and empathy from those around you.

As Bynes continues on her path to recovery, many fans and industry insiders are rallying around her, offering their support and sending messages of hope and positivity. It is unclear what the future holds for her career, but for now, the most important thing is that she focuses on getting the help and support she needs to live a healthy and happy life.
