Paul Clement’s side are close to winning the race to sign the England Under-21 striker on loan despite competition from other Premier League clubs

Tammy Abraham is closing in on a loan move from Chelsea to Swansea City for the 2017-18 season, Goal understands.

Cole: Chelsea will miss Terry more than you think

Swansea look set to beat the likes of Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion to his signature after Abraham verbally agreed to make the move to South Wales.

Chelsea have been looking to find a Premier League club for their highly-rated youngster to continue his development next season.

The 19-year-old is currently away with England Under-21s at the European Championship in Poland, but the paperwork is still expected to be completed on Wednesday.

Abraham has previously worked with Paul Clement when the Swansea boss was a coach at Chelsea and should be reunited with him at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans were impressed with Abraham’s efforts in the Championship last season when he scored 23 goals in 40 appearances for Bristol City in his first full year as a professional footballer.
