Sam Smith and “13 Reasons Why” star Brandon Flynn had a relationship unlike any of the singer’s previous flames. The two A-listers were notably at the height of their respective careers when they began dating, and because of this, people couldn’t take their eyes off the couple.
According to Cosmopolitan, the two first garnered people’s attention after they were spotted kissing and having a smoke together in October 2017. Although the singer was known for keeping their dating life private, something about Flynn made them change their perspective. The “Stay With Me” singer confessed that they were in a relationship during an appearance on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” after Degeneres asked if Smith was single. They responded, “No, I’m not, which is crazy.” The singer went on to share they were “happy” in their relationship, although they never name-dropped Flynn, specifically. Not long after the interview, Flynn made their relationship Instagram official.
In January 2018, Flynn and Smith made their first public appearance together at the 2018 Grammy awards. According to Us Weekly, the couple didn’t walk the carpet but kept things friendly inside the venue. Things were getting so serious between the two: Not only were they taking trips together, but Smith had reportedly met Flynn’s parents in April 2018. However, as they say, all good things must come to an end — and the two celebrities did decide to call it quits.
