The Heartbreaking Toll of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Divorce on Their Children

0

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s highly publicized divorce has been making headlines since it was announced in 2016. The couple’s tumultuous relationship and subsequent split have been the subject of much speculation and controversy. But it’s their children who are caught in the middle of their parents’ war, particularly Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.

At just 15 years old, Shiloh is the youngest of the Jolie-Pitt children. Unlike her older siblings, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, who are all over 18, Shiloh and her younger siblings Vivienne and Knox are still minors under US law. As such, they are bound by court-ordered visitation agreements that dictate how much time they can spend with their father, Brad Pitt.

According to a source who spoke with OK! magazine, Shiloh is struggling with the situation. “Shiloh wishes her mom and dad could find it in their hearts to forgive each other and just move on peacefully,” the source said. “She’s always reminding her mom and dad of the good times they shared. It pains her terribly to see them treating each other like they’re some type of monster.”

It’s not just Shiloh who is feeling the effects of the divorce. In a rare interview with British Vogue’s Edward Enninful in 2021, Angelina Jolie opened up about the toll the split has taken on her and her children. “I feel like I’m lacking in all the skills to be a traditional stay-at-home mom,” she said. “I’m managing through it because the children are quite resilient, and they’re helping me, but I’m not good at it at all.”

Jolie went on to describe her love for her children and her determination to make things work. “It may sound clichéd, but you love and you try, and even if you burn the eggs, that doesn’t matter in the end,” she said.

But despite her best efforts, the divorce has undoubtedly had a profound impact on the Jolie-Pitt children. In addition to the court-ordered visitation agreements, the family has also been embroiled in a custody battle that has been ongoing since the divorce was announced.

Angelina has been fighting tooth and nail to keep the children away from Brad, citing concerns about his alleged substance abuse and anger issues. Brad, for his part, has denied the allegations and has been fighting for joint custody of the children.

The custody battle has been a long and difficult process, with both sides making accusations and fighting for what they believe is best for the children. But in the end, it’s the children who are suffering the most.
