In the upcoming clash against hosts Cote d’Ivoire at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman exudes confidence, asserting that the Super Eagles are prepared for the challenge ahead.

Set to take place at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Thursday, Jose Peseiro’s squad, following a 1-1 draw against the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea in their opening fixture, is gearing up to face the Elephants. With their eyes set on victory, the three-time champions understand the significance of avoiding defeat to bolster their chances of progressing to the next round.

Lookman, acknowledging the formidable nature of Jean Louis Gasset’s team, remains optimistic about the Super Eagles’ prospects, stating, “It’s going to be a tough game but I want to say we are ready for the fight. It’s never easy to play against the hosts in a competition like this.”
