Claudio Ranieri and Frank de Boer are in talks with Crystal Palace about their manager’s job, according to Sky sources.

Leicester sacked Ranieri in February nine months after the Italian lifted the Premier League trophy with the Foxes.

The 65-year-old, who has also previously managed Chelsea, has been without a club since leaving the King Power Stadium.

Former Ajax boss De Boer, without a club since a short spell with Inter ended at the start of November, is also one of a number of candidates being considered as Sam Allardyce’s replacement.

De Boer spent more than five years as Ajax boss, winning four straight Dutch league titles between 2011 and 2014, before leaving last summer.

He was linked with the Rangers job following Mark Warburton’s February exit but told Sky Sports News HQ at the time: “Right now I am just taking a break and just looking more for next season and hopefully to start in pre-season, not to start in the middle of the season.

“It’s a long time since I have [been able to have] a break because when I was 14 I started to play for Ajax and when I quit my career I started directly to be a coach, first youth and then as a head coach.

“It is my first time in almost 32 years that I’ve had a break for two or three months so I am enjoying that.”

Allardyce last month made the shock decision to leave Palace after guiding the club to Premier League survival, and more than a dozen potential successors have since been identified.
