In a surprising turn of events, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho have left the Super Eagles camp ahead of their scheduled match against Mozambique. The two players flew to their respective bases on Saturday, leaving the team with limited options for the upcoming game.

Osimhen, who suffered a hamstring injury during the Super Eagles’ 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia on Friday, was replaced by Terem Moffi in the second half of the match. The injury is a blow to both Osimhen and the Super Eagles, as the striker had been in fine form for Napoli prior to joining the national team.

Iheanacho, on the other hand, has been excused from camp due to a family emergency. The Leicester City forward has been an integral part of the Super Eagles’ recent success, and his absence will be felt by the team.

With the departure of Osimhen and Iheanacho, Super Eagles coach Carlos Queiroz will have to make some adjustments to his lineup ahead of the Mozambique friendly. The team will now have only three centre-forwards to choose from, namely Terem Moffi, Victor Boniface, and Sadiq Umar.

Despite the setbacks, the Super Eagles remain confident in their ability to perform well in the upcoming match. The team has been in good form of late, and will be looking to continue their winning streak against Mozambique.

The departure of Osimhen and Iheanacho is a reminder of the unpredictable nature of international football. Injuries and personal emergencies can strike at any time, and teams must be prepared to adapt to unexpected changes.

The Super Eagles will now have to regroup and focus on the task at hand, as they prepare for their match against Mozambique. While the absence of Osimhen and Iheanacho is a blow to the team, it also presents an opportunity for other players to step up and make their mark on the international stage.

As the Super Eagles continue their preparations for the Mozambique friendly, fans and supporters will be eagerly anticipating the team’s performance. With a strong squad and a talented coach, the Super Eagles are well-positioned to continue their recent success and make a statement on the international stage.
