MSNBC host criticizes Jordan’s record and lack of accomplishments in Congress
In a fiery interview on MSNBC, host Nicolle Wallace did not hold back in her assessment of Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-Ohio) record in Congress. Speaking with Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), who served on the Jan. 6 committee, Wallace tore into Jordan, calling him a terrible member of Congress and a failed lawmaker.
During the interview, Lofgren expressed her disappointment with Jordan’s performance as the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and as a member of Congress. She accused him of being “up to his eyeballs in the plot to overturn the Constitution” and questioned his support for democratic institutions. Lofgren went on to express her astonishment at the idea that Jordan could be second in line to the presidency.

However, Wallace believed that Lofgren’s assessment was too diplomatic. She boldly stated, “He’s a terrible member of Congress… He’s a terrible lawmaker. He’s never made a law.” Wallace further criticized Jordan’s role as the chair of the subcommittee on weaponization, highlighting that he had produced no actual evidence to support his claims of the federal government’s “weaponization” against Donald Trump and others on the right.
Wallace also pointed out that other Republicans had criticized Jordan’s performance. She highlighted how Jordan’s attempts to support Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election were seen as a failure, with former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy appointing him to the committee position in January. Jordan fell 20 votes short of becoming House speaker on Tuesday, further indicating the lack of support he received from his colleagues.
Following the vote, Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.), who did not vote for Jordan, criticized his stance on defunding the Department of Justice. Buck emphasized the need for Jordan to stop talking about such actions. Lofgren agreed with Wallace’s assessment, stating that Buck’s criticism was actually a diplomatic approach to discussing Jordan’s failures. She echoed the concern that Jordan not only performed poorly in his role but also failed to support the institutions of the government.
