Elvis Presley’s former girlfriend, Linda Thompson, has opened up about her relationship with the late singer and his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in a new memoir. Thompson, who dated Elvis from 1972 to 1976, remained close to Lisa Marie even after the couple split.
In her memoir, “A Little Thing Called Life,” Thompson revealed that Lisa Marie’s relationship with her father’s new girlfriend, Thompson herself, blossomed immediately. She shared fond memories of playing Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny for Lisa Marie, taking golf cart rides together, and driving her to the movies, and visiting Thompson’s family.

Thompson remained close to Lisa Marie after she and Elvis split in 1976, and the two spoke regularly over the years. When Lisa Marie’s son, Benjamin Keough, died in 2020, Thompson offered her love and support, writing on Instagram that she loved Lisa Marie “always and forever” and that her heart hurt for her after the profound tragedy and loss she had suffered.
Thompson’s memoir also sheds light on her relationship with Elvis, whom she met in 1972 while she was a beauty pageant winner and rising actress. She describes their relationship as passionate and intense, but also tumultuous at times. Thompson witnessed Elvis’s struggles with addiction and his complicated relationships with women, including his ex-wife, Priscilla Presley.
