Liam Gallagher, the iconic lead singer of Oasis, has had his fair share of run-ins with the law due to his aversion to being photographed. In 1998, the singer was arrested twice in separate incidents for attacking individuals who attempted to take his picture.

The first incident occurred in March 1998 outside of a hotel in Brisbane, Australia, where a fan attempted to photograph the singer. Gallagher headbutted the fan, causing a broken nose, and was subsequently charged with assault. Although released on bail, the charges were ultimately dropped as the fan decided to pursue the matter in civil court.

Later that same year, in November, Gallagher was involved in another altercation when he spotted a journalist trying to photograph him outside of a pub in North London. The freelance photographer alleged that Gallagher turned aggressive when approached for a photo, and a scuffle ensued. Gallagher reportedly broke the photographer’s camera lens and stole a film, but the photographer ultimately chose not to press charges.

In 2002, Gallagher found himself in trouble with the law once again when he was arrested for striking a German police officer during a bar brawl. Although he was eventually released, Gallagher lost two teeth in the ensuing chaos.

Despite his legal troubles, Gallagher has maintained a reputation for being surly and confrontational, often feuding with his brother and bandmate, Noel Gallagher. In a 2018 interview with The Guardian, Gallagher admitted, “I’ve always been a bit of an arrogant c***, even when I was digging holes for a living in Manchester.”

Fans of Oasis continue to admire the band’s music, but it’s clear that Gallagher’s disdain for being photographed is not to be taken lightly. His repeated violent reactions to cameras demonstrate his intense desire for privacy and his willingness to defend it at all costs.
