INEC deletes names of Cross River APC candidates submitted by embattled Acting Chairman, John Ochala

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deleted the names of Governorship candidate, Senatorial, House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly for Cross River State submitted by the embattled Acting Chairman of APC, John Ochala.

Announcing the deletion of the names on Friday night, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Frankland Briyai said he was under instruction to make the announcement to the people of the state.

“I have the instruction from Abuja to make public to all Cross River people and I want to read it out. It is dated 22nd February 2019 and it is addressed to the Resident Electoral Commissioner.

“Heading, ‘Forwarding of commission’s decision in pursuant to order of court in suit no FHC/CA/CS/73/1/2018’

“The Commission in pursuant to the order of court in above matter has directed that the names of all candidates submitted by APC for Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly for Cross River State be removed from the lists of candidates for the election in compliance with the said order.

“However, the logo and names of the party shall be retained pending the submission of the lists of candidates from the Godwin Etim John led State Executive of the APC in compliance with the above order.

“You are requested to updates your record in respect to the above views. Please accept the assurance e of the Commission high regards” he stated The REC said that the document was signed by Rose Oriaraan-Anthony, Secretary of the Commission.
