Hannah Jeter Shares Her Love Story with Derek Jeter in Guest Post for The Players’ Tribune

Hannah Jeter, a 20-year-old female writer, has recently shared her love story with former baseball player and current Miami Marlins CEO, Derek Jeter, in a guest post for The Players’ Tribune. Hannah, who wasn’t familiar with the baseball scene, admitted that she didn’t know who Derek was when they first met through a friend. “I thought he was a pitcher. I know it sounds strange that I didn’t know he was a shortstop. I can just imagine all of the New Yorkers reading this right now thinking, ‘Oh, come aawwnn.’ They probably don’t believe me. You probably don’t believe me. But it’s true,” Hannah wrote.

Hannah went on to say that despite her lack of knowledge about Derek’s baseball career, she thought he was “the nicest guy” and chose to get to know him on a personal level. “We met at the right time. To me, what matters in a relationship is being at the same place in your lives. And right from the start, I could tell that the timing of Derek’s life and mine were aligned,” Hannah wrote.

Derek, who was known for keeping his personal life private, seemed smitten with Hannah from the start. Fans noticed the difference in his relationship with the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. In 2015, Derek casually referred to Hannah as his fiancee in a blog post he wrote for The Players’ Tribune. Their wedding was up next.

According to People, Derek and Hannah exchanged vows at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California in July 2016. The couple’s wedding was a star-studded affair, with guests including former teammates Jorge Posada, Andruw Jones, and Tino Martinez, as well as former New York Yankees manager Joe Torre.

Hannah, who wore a custom Vera Wang gown, walked down the aisle to the song “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. The couple exchanged vows under an arch made of pink and white flowers, with the Napa Valley mountains serving as a stunning backdrop.

In her guest post for The Players’ Tribune, Hannah also opened up about the challenges of being in a high-profile relationship. “When you’re in the public eye, everything is scrutinized. Everything you do is put under a microscope. But Derek and I have always been very private people, and that’s something that has helped us navigate this crazy world,” she wrote.

Hannah also shared that she and Derek are now proud parents to two daughters, Bella Raine, and Story Grey. “Being a mom is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. It’s a love like no other. And watching Derek be a dad is the most amazing thing. He’s so hands-on and involved, and it’s just beautiful to see,” she wrote.

As for what’s next for the couple, Hannah says they’re focused on their family and their respective careers. “We’re just taking it day by day. We’re both so busy with work and our girls, but we always make time for each other. That’s what matters most,” she wrote.
