Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Brighton and Birmingham City are interested in signing Ferland Mendy from Le Havre.
The 21-year-old left-back is one of the most sought-after young players in France.
Le Havre value Mendy at £7m, who has one year left on his contract and has been watched by Monaco, Marseille and Lyon.
Monaco have identified him as a replacement for Benjamin Mendy, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Ligue 1 champions placed a £40m price tag on Benjamin Mendy, prompting Man City to turn their attention to Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.
Meanwhile, Bertrand’s Southampton team-mate, Virgil van Dijk, is understood to favour a move to Liverpool. Saints have asked the Premier League to investigate an alleged illegal approach from Liverpool for the Netherlands international, Sky sources understand.
