Former US presidential candidate, Pete Buttigieg and husband Chasten announce the birth of their adopted children

Former US presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten have announced the birth of their son and daughter.

Buttigieg, the Transportation Secretary under Joe Biden’s administration, revealed last month that he and Chasten, an author and former teacher, had become first-time parents.

The Washington Post reported in July that the couple, who have been married since 2018, had been trying to adopt for a year.

“Chasten, and I are beyond thankful for all the kind wishes since first sharing the news that we’re becoming parents,” the Biden Cabinet secretary posted on his Twitter handle on Saturday night, September 4.

“We are delighted to welcome Penelope Rose and Joseph August Buttigieg to our family.”
