A former lawmaker, Sani Aminu Jaji, has decried the increasing rate of insecurity in Zamfara State, lamenting that the activities of bandits were getting out of hand.

The former lawmaker said the problem is aggravated by bandit informants who reside and hail from the same communities that are attacked.

“The bandits live in the forests and do not know much about many villages in the state but are being given information about the villages by their informants.”

Jaji, who represented Birinin Magaji/ Kaura federal constituency in the House of Representatives, said to end banditry activities in the state, the authorities concerned must deal decisively with the bandits’ informants.

He said the informants always furnish the kidnappers with information about well-to-do individuals in their communities, setting them up for abduction for ransom.

He tasked villagers always to report any suspected movement of unknown faces in their communities to help security operatives act and arrest the situation in good time.
