Celtic forward Moussa Dembele will be fit to play in Saturday’s Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen, manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

The 20-year-old has not featured for the Hoops since suffering a hamstring injury in the 2-0 semi-final victory over Rangers on April 22.

But Rodgers revealed Dembele, who has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season, is back in full training and could start at Hampden Park.

“He’s fine. He has trained all week so he is available. Maybe he could have joined the squad a little earlier, so he is fine and available,” Rodgers said.

Celtic are aiming to complete their first domestic treble since the 2000-01 season with victory in Glasgow on Saturday, having already secured the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup.

Rodgers has tasted victory in each of the five matches he has come up against Derek McInnes’ side, including a 3-0 League Cup final win over the Dons.

“I think the beauty of up here is that you’ve got the chance to be very flexible tactically, if you want to be. This will be the sixth time we’ve played Aberdeen,” Rodgers added.

Rodgers: We want to win it all

Brendan Rodgers admits a win at Hampden Park in Saturday’s Scottish Cup final would cap off an extraordinary first season at the club for him

“For us, we’ve played in different systems and shapes, but our style has remained the same. I’ve really enjoyed the games we’ve played against Aberdeen and Derek is an outstanding coach and manager.

“They’ve provided us with different challenges in all of the games we’ve played. We plan for every eventuality and expect a very, very difficult game.”
