A coalition of civil society organizations, Nigeria Youth Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative (NYAGGI), has joined forces to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to refrain from interfering with the judgment of the Kogi State governorship election tribunal. The group, led by National President Comrade Shuaibu Abdulkadir, is determined to uphold the principles of democracy and ensure that justice prevails in the face of alleged electoral malpractice.

In a statement titled “Exposing Attempts to Subvert Judicial Integrity in Kogi State Governorship Tribunal,” Abdulkadir emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the judicial process. He stressed that despite any potential turmoil that may arise, it is crucial for justice to prevail in order to address the electoral malpractice that occurred during the last governorship election in Kogi State.

The group highlighted various forms of electoral malpractice, such as manipulation, over-voting, and voter inducement, that were reported across different regions of Kogi State. They believe that these actions undermine the democratic process and must be rectified to uphold the essence of democracy.

Abdulkadir made a direct appeal to President Tinubu, urging him to resist any temptation to interfere with the judgment of the Kogi State Tribunal. He emphasized the need for a fair and transparent judicial process that will ultimately lead to a brighter future for Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.

Furthermore, the group called on the judiciary to defend the nation’s democracy with unwavering resolve and without succumbing to fear or favoritism. They are committed to ensuring that the principles of fairness, equity, and righteousness are upheld in the pursuit of a just society.

In conclusion, NYAGGI and its partners are dedicated to promoting democratic ideals and ensuring that justice triumphs in the Kogi State governorship election tribunal. They are hopeful that their efforts will lead to a positive outcome that will benefit the people of Kogi State and contribute to the overall progress of Nigeria.
