In a recent social media incident, comedian Matt Rife is facing backlash from both celebrities and fans after making controversial comments on a post by TikTok user Bunny Hedaya. Hedaya’s seven-year-old son, Aiden, had critiqued Rife’s comedy routine on Instagram, to which Rife responded with a series of offensive remarks.

The incident began when Aiden posted a video on Instagram criticizing Rife’s comedy routine, specifically pointing out that Rife was “mean to girls.” While this comment may have been harmless, Rife took offense to Aiden’s suggestion that he should have used Saturn instead of Jupiter in a joke about a planet with rings. Rife responded to Aiden’s comment by saying that Jupiter also has a ring, but didn’t stop there.

Rife continued to make insulting comments, including the claim that “Santa Claus isn’t real” and that Aiden’s mother buys him presents with money she makes on OnlyFans. Hedaya later turned off the post’s comments, but not before Rife’s comments had been seen by many of her followers.

The incident quickly gained attention on social media, with many celebrities speaking out against Rife’s behavior. Actress and comedian Sarah Silverman took to Twitter to criticize Rife’s comments, saying that “this is not how you handle criticism, especially from a child.” Other celebrities, including Chrissy Teigen and Mindy Kaling, also spoke out against Rife’s behavior.

Hedaya later posted a video on TikTok, explaining that Aiden had made the video because he was interested in space and had been tagged in Rife’s post by fans. Hedaya criticized Rife for picking a fight with a six-year-old over a harmless video and slammed him for making sexist assumptions about her because she is a woman with a social media following.

Addressing Rife directly, Hedaya stated that “you can’t accept the fact that people may like women for their personalities. We know you don’t have one.” Rife had previously told Variety that he was catering to a male audience with his comedy routine, and Hedaya criticized him for forsaking the female fans that had made him successful.

The incident has sparked a larger conversation about the treatment of women in comedy and the need for more diverse voices in the industry. Many fans and celebrities have called for Rife to apologize for his comments and to take responsibility for his actions.

In the wake of the controversy, Rife has not made any public statements or apologies. However, the incident has sparked a larger conversation about the need for more respectful and inclusive behavior in the entertainment industry.
