Democratic Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Summer Lee, and Barbara Lee were among those who received the briefings, according to Politico.
The Capitol Police spokesperson confirmed that the department conducted “several briefings” to lawmakers regarding the increased protections in place. The progressive lawmakers have become targets due to their vocal criticism of Israel’s actions in the ongoing conflict with Gaza.
