The Bachelorette alum Shawn Booth isn’t thrilled that his ex-fiancée, Kaitlin Bristowe, has seemingly moved on from their November 2018 breakup.
Booth, who got engaged to Bristowe during season 11 of The Bachelorette, aired his hurt feelings on Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s Almost Famous: In Depth podcast. In an exclusive clip obtained by Us Weekly, Booth revealed that it’s “tough” to see his ex date fellow The Bachelorette alum Jason Tartick.
“[I’m] trying to understand things right now. I guess this goes with her new relationship too. It just kind of makes me question everything that we’ve had,” he explained to the co-hosts. “So I think that’s one of the major questions that runs through my mind — just trying to understand that, which I think is tough to understand.”
Booth and Bristowe parted ways three years after their whirlwind July 2015 engagement. In a joint statement to Us Weekly at the time, the couple said that they had “both evolved as people,” which had taken them in “different directions.”
Bristowe hinted at trouble between the two shortly before their split, noting on her Off the Vine podcast that Booth forgot their anniversary in 2018. She recalled telling Booth (via Us Weekly), “‘You forgot our anniversary. At the end of the day, you’re a d**k right now, OK? Just own that.'”
Luckily, Bristowe has since found happiness with Tartick (via People). “You’re good looking, you’re the sweetest person I ever met. You just have good intentions, you’re well raised, you’re just a little diamond in the rough,” she later gushed to him during an Off the Vine episode.
Booth addressed Bristowe’s showy romance with Tartick on the Almost Famous podcast, stating, “I do care about her, so I am happy that she doesn’t have to, I guess, deal with, maybe, all the pain and the heartbreak because it seems like she’s moved on and she’s happy. … I also think that it’s helping me to move on because it does hurt that much, but seeing everything, it does upset me and does make me a little angry, but it also helps me to move on knowing that maybe we weren’t right for each other and that I will find somebody down the road that also makes me happy.”
