Celebs who can’t stand Cardi B

When “Bodak Yellow” reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 2017 — a feat that hadn’t been accomplished by a rapper since Lauryn Hill’s 1998 record “Doo Wop (That Thing)” — nearly everyone was singing Cardi B’s praises. Rapper Azealia Banks, however, was carrying a different tune.

According to Complex, Banks wrote that Cardi, who is of Dominican and Trinidadian descent, is only considered black when it’s convenient, calling her the “poor man’s nicki [minaj].” She also called Cardi a “caricature of a black woman” and declared that she’d lowered the bar for black women’s culture. “Maybe two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high. We were really discussing our power amongst ourselves,” Banks told The Breakfast Club. “Beyoncé came out with Lemonade and there was just this really really really intelligent conversation going on nationally. And then, everything just kind of changed and then it was, like, Cardi B.”

Banks has continued to attack Cardi, calling her a “stupid, ghetto, low-mentality bird” in the wake of her September 2018 fight with Nicki Minaj (via Us Weekly). Which brings us to our next Cardi hater…
