The Zamfara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has assured that the party will not go into any merger with any political party in the state, saying that it will go into the 2023 contest with confidence.

In an interview with DAILY POST in Gusau, the state capital, the chairman of the party, Alhaji Kabiru Garba, said the party has designed strategies to have both the ruling APC and the opposition PDP.

The state chairman of the ADC explained that his party is capable of challenging the ruling APC and PDP in the state, pointing out that APC has already failed woefully due to numerous problems ravaging the entire state.

According to him, no responsible person will waste his time and energy to vote for a party that has failed woefully, stressing that Zamfara State has since been identified as the colony of banditry, coupled with hunger and starvation amongst other challenges.

He said, “We took time to elect capable politicians that can challenge the candidates of the two political parties in the state.

“It is a statement of fact that both the ruling APC and opposition PDP would underrated ADC but we will give them surprise packages.”

He noted that the governorship candidate of ADC, Alhaji Jafaru Salisu Gusau has already designed strategies for the battle, saying that for APC, the insecurity situation ravaging the state would deny the party the mandate.

“Other candidates that emerged during the congress are the senators, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly members in the state are also politically prepared for the contest.

“We are ready to battle APC and PDP politically to the last minute, we will not compromise with either the ruling party or the number one opposition PDP.”

Those contesting are Jafar Salisu Gusau Governor, Ibrahim Musa Anka, Senator Zamfara West and Nuhu Tunau for Central Senatorial District and Shafaatu Labbo, a woman who will contest for Kaura Namoda North seat in the State House of Assembly.
