Christy Ucheibe is beaming with excitement after scoring her first goal for the Super Falcons in Thursday night’s 2-0 win against the Mares of Botswana.

The Benfica midfielder replaced Rita Chikwelu in the 46th minute and scored Nigeria’s second goal two minutes later.

USA-based striker, Ifeoma Onumonu had put the Super Falcons ahead in the 22nd minute after she was set up with a superb pass from Halimat Ayinde.

It was the Super Falcons first win in the competition following their 2-1 defeat to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa on Monday.

Ucheibe took to social media to celebrate her goal and her side’s victory.

“I am so proud to have scored my first goal for the Super Falcons and help the team secure this important victory,” Ucheibe chimed on Twitter.

The Super Falcons will take on Burundi in their final group game on Sunday.
