pre season friendly osimhen scores again as napoli maintain perfect run

Victor Osimhen was on target as Napoli defeated Greek club Apollon Limassol 2-0 in a pre-season friendly at the Stadio Patini on Friday night.

Osimhen strained his ankle during a practice match this week, and there were fears he could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

The Nigeria international was, however, named in the starting lineup by manager Rudi Garcia.

The 24-year-old gave the Partenopei the lead with a cool finish on the hour mark.

The striker has now scored three goals in three pre-season outings for the Serie A champions.

Giovanni Simeone added the second in the 71st minute.

Napoli will start their Serie A campaign with an away trip to Frosinone on August 17.
