In a recent update, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has issued a fresh warning to Nigerians regarding the activities of one-chance robbers across the country. This warning comes as the criminal elements have adopted a new method known as “Shifting Chair-One Chance” to carry out their illegal activities.
The NPF took to its official Facebook page on Monday night to alert the public about this new tactic being used by one-chance robbers. According to the post, unsuspecting Nigerians are being targeted by these criminals who operate by luring victims into their vehicles under false pretenses.
The force emphasized the importance of vigilance and advised passengers to be cautious when boarding vehicles that are not painted in commercial colors. This precautionary measure is aimed at preventing individuals from falling victim to the deceptive tactics employed by one-chance robbers.
“It has become vital to intimate members of the public about trending methods adopted by criminals to rob unsuspecting citizens of their possessions. One of such is known as ‘Shifting Chair- One Chance,'” the post stated.
The Nigeria Police Force further urged citizens and residents to remain watchful and avoid boarding vehicles that lack proper commercial markings or identification. This proactive approach is crucial in safeguarding individuals from falling prey to the nefarious activities of one-chance robbers.
Reports indicate that one-chance robbery has been a recurring issue in major cities such as Abuja and Lagos State. This organized crime is carried out by armed robbers who specialize in snatching valuables, including cell phones and cash, from unsuspecting passengers.
As the NPF continues to address the growing concern of one-chance robbery, it is imperative for individuals to exercise caution and remain alert while commuting. By staying informed and vigilant, members of the public can help prevent falling victim to the deceptive tactics employed by these criminal elements.
