The party has alleged that the motive behind this heinous act was to instill fear in the people and prevent them from freely exercising their democratic right to vote for a candidate of their choice in the forthcoming governorship election.

According to reports, a policeman and civil defense personnel were recently apprehended at a military checkpoint in Otakeme, Ogbia Local Government of the State. They were allegedly accompanying armed men to Nembe, further fueling suspicions of a coordinated effort to disrupt the peace. The PDP has also highlighted allegations in the public domain, suggesting the involvement of high-ranking police personnel in aiding this reprehensible scheme to forcefully gain control of Opu-Nembe.
Undeterred by these acts of violence, the resilient people of Bayelsa State have rallied behind Governor Diri, demonstrating their unwavering support. They are determined to resist any attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to undermine their democratic rights. The PDP firmly believes that the people of Bayelsa will overwhelmingly vote for Governor Diri and remain steadfast in defending their votes until the very end.
