The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six competition has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 23, after being postponed due to a backlog of outstanding matches in Group B involving defending champions, Rivers United. The season-ending competition was originally scheduled to start on May 16, but the Independent Management Committee (IMC) decided to delay the event to ensure all teams could participate.

The IMC, in a letter addressed to all the clubs, stated that the competition will end on Saturday, June 3, and will be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. The top three teams in Group A and B will compete for the NPFL title in the competition.

Bendel Insurance are the only team who have booked their place in the tournament. The first and second-place teams in the Super Six will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League next season, while the third-place team will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The rescheduling of the competition has caused some disappointment among fans, but many are still looking forward to seeing their favorite teams compete for the title. Some fans have expressed concerns about the quality of the event, as some teams may not have had enough time to prepare adequately due to the postponement.

One fan, a 20-year-old student named Aisha, said, “I’m excited to see the Super Six, but I’m worried that some teams might not be at their best because of the delay. I hope they can still put on a good show for the fans.”
