Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has approved the reopening of all state-owned tertiary institutions on Monday, the 16th of November, 2020.

The approval was given in a press statement issued in Damaturu on Tuesday by the Director of Science, Technology and Innovation in the Ministry of Higher Education.

“Following the closure of schools as a result of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for almost 6-7 months.

“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State Honourable Mai Mala Buni has approved the reopening of the state-owned tertiary institutions on Monday 16th November 2020.

“In view of this development, all heads of institutions are urged to prepare for full academic activities with immediate effect”, it urged.

The statement commended governor Buni for approving the resumption as well as the provision of logistics support to the institutions to meet up with the COVID-19 safety protocols.
