Nigeria National League Dismisses Speculations of October Start for 2024/25 Season

In a recent development, the Nigeria National League (NNL) has categorically denied the reports suggesting that the forthcoming 2024/25 season will commence in October.

Emmanuel Attah, the Chief Operating Officer of NNL, emphasized the importance of following due procedures before finalizing the commencement date for a new season during an interaction with the press.

Attah articulated, “Deciding the kick-off date of the League is not merely an arbitrary task that can be swiftly determined within the confines of our office. There are crucial steps that must be adhered to.”

He elaborated further, stating, “The Annual General Meeting of the NNL is an integral platform where a comprehensive assessment of the preceding season transpires, and sanction for the inception of the forthcoming season is granted.”

Refuting the rumored October kick-off date, Attah remarked, “The genesis of the speculation surrounding an October kick-off remains a mystery to us. As far as my awareness extends, no specific date has been officially earmarked for the commencement of the NNL season. Rest assured, once a definitive date is established, it will be disseminated promptly for public awareness.”
