The harrowing event unfolded in November of last year when 36-year-old Hayley Berry was discovered to be heavily intoxicated while driving her kids to school.

Witnesses reported that she abruptly halted her vehicle in the middle of a road, prompting immediate action from those nearby. The magistrate remarked on the gravity of the situation, stating, “You had your youngest children in the back of the car and you were out of it. I don’t want to think what could have happened.”
In light of her actions, the court sentenced Berry to eight weeks in jail, which has been suspended for 12 months. Additionally, she received a 30-month driving ban and was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work as part of her sentence. Berry is also required to pay a victim surcharge of £154, along with court costs amounting to £85. Due to her financial situation, she will be able to pay these costs in installments, as she is currently receiving Universal Credit.
