Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp: Is Reconciliation on the Horizon?

It was August of 2014 when Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp broke up after three years of dating. The couple, who lived in different cities, struggled to maintain a long-distance relationship, as confirmed by a source who spoke with People.

“He resides in Indiana and she lives in New York, it was the long distance that ultimately was the cause,” the insider said.

Back in 2013, Mellencamp, an Indiana native, spoke about his solitary home life in Bloomington after his youngest kids went off to college. But moving to New York to be with Ryan was not a direct solution, according to Mellencamp. “I’m too sensitive to live here. I can’t see poor people. I can’t see suffering. I can’t see the trash on the streets,” he admitted.

The constant paparazzi was another thing that kept the singer away from the Big Apple, as he revealed. “I don’t give a f*** about me, but I don’t like it for [Ryan],” he explained. “I’m not leaving Indiana. I’m going to die here,” he added.

However, four months after their breakup, sources close to the actor revealed he would be willing to move to New York if it meant a chance at reconciling with Ryan.

“He is at the point now that he would move to New York City full-time if it meant Meg would take him back,” an insider told Closer Weekly.

Fans of the couple have been waiting for news on whether they reconciled or not. Sources suggest that the two have been in contact since their split in 2014; however, they have not announced any official reunion yet.

Meg Ryan is a well-known actress, director, and producer, known for her roles in romantic comedies such as “When Harry Met Sally,” “Sleepless in Seattle,” and “You’ve Got Mail.” John Mellencamp, on the other hand, is a singer and songwriter famous for his hits like “Jack & Diane,” “Pink Houses,” and “Wild Night.”
