It’s been a hectic transfer window for Leicester City, who have worked hard to build a squad capable of competing in the Premier League. With many incomings and outgoings this summer, take a look at how we rate each one of those transfers.
Leicester City 2024 summer transfer – Incomings
Abdul Fatawu
Sporting Lisbon, £14 million
Fatawu won the Men’s Young Player of the Season with 20 goal contributions in all competitions last season for Leicester City. Following the Foxes’ promotion, a buy clause in Fatawu’s contract was triggered, which Leicester were more than happy to pay. He’s an immense talent and a joy to watch.
Transfer Rating – 9/10
Bobby Decordova-Reid
Fulham, Free Transfer
Adds Premier League experience at no transfer fees. May not be the most skilful player, but he provides good depth to the team.
Transfer Rating – 6.5/10
Michael Golding
Chelsea, £5 million
Signed for the future, fans will be hoping to get a glimpse of Golding in the first team to see what he’s all about. Looks like a decent talent for a relatively low fee.
Transfer Rating – 7/10
Caleb Okoli
Atalanta, £13 million
Brings much-needed pace and physicality to the Leicester backline. He looks defensively solid and had a decent debut against Aston Villa.
Transfer Rating – 7.5/10
Facundo Buonanotte
Brighton and Hove Albion, Loan
Exciting and skilful, Foxes fans wish the Argentine were a permanent signing at Leicester. Regardless of where his future lies, Buonanotte will play a key part in the Foxes’ fight for survival this season.
Transfer Rating – 8.5/10
Oliver Skipp
Tottenham Hotspur, £20 million
His playing style may not excite fans, but he seems to be exactly what Leicester need. His composure will be vital in the middle of the park.
Transfer Rating – 8/10
Jordan Ayew
Crystal Palace, £5 million
Spending £5 million on a 32-year-old doesn’t appear to be good business, but Leicester need players who can come in and make an immediate impact. Having made over 250 Premier League appearances, his experience will come in handy.
Transfer Rating – 6/10
Bilal El Khannouss
Genk, £19 million
He looks to be an exciting young talent with the potential to be a Foxes star. With Buonanotte as the starting number 10, he can be afforded a few weeks to adjust to the Premier League.
Transfer Rating – 7.5/10
Odsonne Edouard
Crystal Palace, Loan
A Foxes transfer target during his Celtic days, the Frenchman finally dons the Leicester blue. Following an unimpressive stint with Palace so far, Steve Cooper will aim to draw the forward’s full potential

Leicester City 2024 summer transfer – Outgoings
Kelechi Iheanacho
Sevilla, End-of-contract
It’s sad to see the Nigerian leave. With the striker crisis at the club, he could have made a real impact on Leicester this season. Having paid over £20 million for him, seeing him leave on a free transfer is also a significant financial loss.
Transfer Rating – 4/10
Dennis Praet
Antwerp, End-of-contract
Plagued with injury issues during his stint at the King Power, Praet will hope for some consistency with Antwerp.
Transfer Rating – 6/10
Kiernan Dewsbury Hall
Chelsea, £30 million
Heart-breaking to see him leave. The Leicester academy graduate was a fan favourite and one of the few players who genuinely cared about the club. The fee Leicester received for him will help the club avoid any further Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) breaches. Wish him nothing but the best for his future endeavours.
Transfer Rating – 5/10
Harry Souttar
Sheffield United, Loan
A successful loan spell could earn him a permanent move to another club. Never really got a chance to prove himself at Leicester.
Transfer Rating – 6/10
Sammy Braybrooke
Dundee, Loan
A loan spell at a top-tier club is exactly what Braybrooke needs for his development. Remains one of the brightest prospects of Leicester.

Transfer Rating – 9/10
Tom Cannon
Stoke City, Loan
Signed for £7.5 million last summer, things haven’t gone well for the striker. He barely got a chance last season, and Cooper wasn’t keen on using him this season either. Hopefully, he will show everyone his quality with a good loan spell in the Championship.
Transfer Rating – 7.5/10
Ben Nelson
Oxford United, Loan
Another bright Foxes talent, Nelson, was on the fringes of the first-team squad last season. The centre-back has a lot of potential and could be a future starter at the King Power Stadium.
