Kano – Football Fans on Thursday in Kano urged the home-based Super Eagles to beat the visiting Squirrels of Benin on Saturday in the 2018 championship for African Nations (CHAN) qualifier.
Some of the fans who spoke to NAN Correspondent on the match said that the match “must be won’’ if Nigeria is to qualify for CHAN 2018 in Kenya.

Idris Malikawa, Sport Writers Association Chairman in Kano, said that he was optimistic that Nigeria would carry the day.
“I am confident that in spite of the first leg result, the Eagles will win convincingly.
“I want the boys to know that there are no more push-overs or minnows in modern football,” he said.
Musbahu Shehu , a sports presenter, urged the team to beat Benin to brighten their chances to play in Kenya.
”I want the boys to approach the match with all seriousness and they must be committed to the game; I see Nigeria winning the game in Kano,” Shehu said.
He added that the players are gradually picking up in their practice games and were working for a win in their encounter on Saturday.
Football enthusiast, Mr. Abel Simon,Said that the team has to do everything needful to win against Squirrels of Benin.
”I pray that they should win to brighten our chances of going to the next CHAN in order to redeem our image.“ he said.
Another enthusiast, Bolaji Ade, enjoined the Eagles Coach to do everything within his powers to achieve victory, even if it meant a 1-0.
“Benin is beatable and with determination, Nigeria will smile at last.
“With Players like, Rabiu, Odey, Ezenwa, Mathias, Aremu and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, eagles will defeat any team in Africa,’’ Ade said.
NAN reports that the Eagles lost the first leg 1-0 to Squirrels in Benin and the return leg comes up on Saturday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.(NAN)
