Abia Warriors Set to Launch Screening Exercise for U-19 Team

Abia Warriors, a top-flight football club in Nigeria, has announced plans to commence a screening exercise for their U-19 team. The exercise is aimed at identifying young talents that will be groomed and integrated into the club’s youth team set-up.

According to the club’s chairman, John Obuh, the screening exercise will take place at the Evangal High School pitch, Old Umuahia, from September 27 to September 30. The exercise will start at 8 a.m. daily and will be overseen by the youth team coaches.

The programme is part of the club’s long-term plans to form a developmental team that will serve as a feeder to the senior team. The club believes that investing in young talents is crucial to the future success of the team.

Speaking on the development, Obuh said, “We are excited to launch this screening exercise for our U-19 team. Our goal is to identify talented young players who will be groomed to become future stars of Abia Warriors. We believe that by investing in young talents, we are securing the future of our club.”

The screening exercise is open to young players within the age bracket of 16 to 19 years. Interested players are expected to come with their playing kits and other necessary equipment.

Abia Warriors is one of the top football clubs in Nigeria, playing in the country’s top-flight league, the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). The club has a rich history of producing young talents who have gone on to play for top clubs in Nigeria and abroad.
