In a candid revelation, 22-year-old Kwara United goalkeeper, Adewale Adeyinka, has boldly attributed the club’s underwhelming performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League to the players themselves. The once-promising Harmony Boys have stumbled out of the gates this season, finding themselves precariously perched around the relegation zone, much to the dismay of fans and supporters.

Speaking exclusively to the Naija Footballers Forum, Adeyinka acknowledged the team’s lackluster display and expressed a strong resolve among the players to turn the tide and claw their way out of the relegation danger zone. “As players, we recognize our shortcomings and understand that we must elevate our performance levels,” he stated with conviction.

The current 15th position in the league standings paints a grim picture for Kwara United, a reality that Adeyinka acknowledges as unacceptable for the club, its loyal supporters, and the state as a whole. However, amidst the adversity, the young goalkeeper exuded optimism, emphasizing the team’s unwavering commitment to finish the season on a high note. “We are approaching the remaining fixtures with utmost seriousness, and I am confident that we will make a strong push up the table,” Adeyinka declared.

Internally, the players have engaged in candid discussions, challenging each other to raise their game and deliver better results on the pitch. Adeyinka highlighted the crucial role played by the management and coaching staff in motivating the team to strive for excellence. “We are receiving tremendous support and encouragement from the management and coaches to up our performance levels. I firmly believe that we have the capacity to rewrite the narrative and steer our season towards a positive direction,” he affirmed.

Looking ahead, Kwara United is gearing up to face Sporting Lagos in their upcoming fixture at the illustrious Mobolaji Johnson Arena this Sunday. The match presents a pivotal opportunity for the team to showcase their resilience and determination as they seek to secure a crucial victory and ignite a resurgence in their campaign.

As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Kwara United as they strive to overcome their challenges, rise above the relegation threat, and reclaim their competitive edge in the Nigeria Premier Football League. With Adeyinka’s candid assessment shedding light on the internal dynamics of the team, the players are poised to harness their potential and translate their aspirations into tangible success on the field.
