It’s been a few years since Darci Lynne Farmer wowed the judges and audiences of “America’s Got Talent” with her incredible ventriloquism skills. But what has she been up to since winning the competition in 2017?
After her victory, Farmer had the option to do a Vegas residency, but she and her parents decided that touring would be a better fit for the then-13-year-old. And it turns out, they made the right choice. Farmer launched her “Darci Lynne and Friends Live” tour in 2018, and the demand for tickets was through the roof. Her star power was evident, and her ability to connect with fans, especially young aspiring ventriloquists, was undeniable.
“I wanted other people to try [ventriloquism], and I ended up meeting that goal – because these tours and these kids are living proof of that,” Farmer told The Oklahoman.
But touring wasn’t the only thing on Farmer’s plate. In 2018, she also scored her own television special, “Darci Lynne: My Hometown Christmas.” The special was filmed partly at the church Farmer actually attends, hence the title. And she had some big names in entertainment join her, including Kristin Chenoweth, Pentatonix, Toby Keith, Hunter Hayes, and Lindsey Stirling, who is also an “AGT” alum.
Farmer sang without her puppets on the special, and it was something she planned on doing more often in the future. “I’m not going to stop doing ventriloquism anytime soon. I’m just going to add singing, recording songs, and maybe playing in a TV show,” she told Parade.
Since then, Farmer has continued to tour and perform, sharing her talents with audiences across the country. And she’s also been open about her struggles with anxiety and how she’s learned to cope with it.

In an interview with People, Farmer said, “I’ve learned that it’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to have anxiety, it’s okay to have bad days, it’s okay to not know what you’re doing sometimes.”
But despite the ups and downs, Farmer remains grateful for the opportunities she’s had and the fans who have supported her along the way.
“I’m just thankful for everything that’s happened and for the people that have supported me,” she told The Oklahoman. “It’s been amazing.”
As for what’s next for Farmer, only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure – she’s got a bright future ahead of her.
