Sea King Sunday Igboho criticism is gaining attention online after the Nigerian TikToker publicly questioned the Yoruba Nation agitator’s silence following the recent attacks and kidnappings in Oyo State.
The controversy started after disturbing reports emerged from Oriire Local Government Area, where gunmen reportedly abducted teachers and students from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, on May 15, 2026. The incident shocked many Nigerians, especially after reports later claimed one of the kidnapped teachers, identified as Michael Oyedokun, was killed by the attackers.
As fear and outrage spread online, TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo — popularly known as Sea King — posted a video on Instagram directly calling out Sunday Igboho for not publicly addressing the growing insecurity situation.

And honestly, he did not hold back.
In the video shared Tuesday, Sea King questioned why Igboho had remained quiet despite previously presenting himself as someone ready to confront violent attacks in Yorubaland.
According to him, the silence no longer matched the strong promises Igboho once made publicly.
Sea King Accuses Igboho Of Going Silent After Presidential Pardon
During his emotional reaction, Sea King referenced Igboho’s past statements about protecting Yoruba communities from armed attacks and insecurity.
The TikToker suggested that things appeared different now that Igboho’s name had reportedly been removed from the Federal Government’s wanted list earlier this year.
At one point in the video, Sea King openly accused Igboho of becoming political instead of remaining outspoken about violence affecting parts of the Southwest.
He questioned where the activist’s promised action had gone, especially after earlier claims about defending Yorubaland from bandits and criminal groups. Sea King also criticized what he described as selective silence following the attacks in Oyo State.
One line from the video quickly spread online after he stated that “silence after a presidential pardon isn’t bravery, it’s politics.”

That comment especially triggered strong reactions across social media platforms, with some users supporting Sea King’s frustration while others defended Igboho and argued that security challenges are more complicated than social media criticism makes them seem.
The Oyo Kidnapping Case Sparked Public Anger
The renewed conversation around insecurity intensified after details from the Oyo kidnapping case became public.
Reports claimed that gunmen abducted several teachers and students from Community High School in Ahoro-Esinle before later releasing disturbing videos connected to the incident. One video reportedly showed the school principal pleading for help and asking authorities to negotiate peacefully for the victims’ safety.
The reported killing of teacher Michael Oyedokun added even more tension and sadness to the situation.
Honestly, school-related kidnappings continue to strike a nerve across Nigeria because they remind people of earlier mass abduction cases that already left many communities traumatized over the years.
As frustration grows whenever new attacks happen, public figures and activists often face pressure online to speak out immediately — especially those previously associated with strong security-related statements.
Sunday Igboho Recently Returned To Nigeria
The criticism toward Igboho also comes only months after his return to Nigeria following years spent outside the country.

The Yoruba Nation agitator went into exile after DSS operatives raided his Ibadan residence in July 2021 during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The operation drew national attention at the time and turned Igboho into one of the most talked-about political figures in the Southwest.
Earlier in 2026, reports emerged that President Bola Tinubu had removed Igboho’s name from the Federal Government’s wanted list, clearing the way for his return.
Since then, many supporters expected him to become more publicly active again regarding issues affecting Yoruba communities.
That expectation probably explains why Sea King’s comments gained attention so quickly online. For some people, the silence feels disappointing considering Igboho’s earlier fiery rhetoric. Others, however, argue that activism, politics, and real-world security operations are far more complicated than internet debates sometimes suggest.
Still, the growing insecurity concerns in parts of Oyo State are clearly leaving many residents frustrated, frightened, and looking for answers from both government officials and outspoken public figures alike
